Butterfly Memorial Wall Here at Hearts Together we wanted to find a way to remember and pay respect to key individuals whose support to the charity has made such a difference to others by creating a dedicated space to celebrate their life and a place to come to for comfort and remembrance. The Butterfly Memorial Wall at Hearts Together Hospital Hotel was opened in 2023 by the Lord Mayor of Plymouth. Our aim is to gradually fill the wall over the coming years and to have a lasting thank you to the wonderful supporters and donors who have helped to ensure we can keep doing what we do here at Hearts Together. "Having this kind of facility available is fundamental, not only to the people who are in the hospital here in crisis, but also the families who suffer from that crisis and share in it too" - Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Councillor Mark Shayer The butterflies placed on the wall all come with plaques to represent the individuals who have left gifts in their Will or where families / carers have given in memory of a loved one. Families and carers will be able to pick out a different coloured butterfly to place on the wall to best represent the person who it will be dedicated to. Amongst the butterflies we also remember those who helped build Hearts Together to form what it is today, with a plaque dedicated to our esteemed founder Monica Pearce who first opened the doors to our Hospital Hotel in 2001. We hope that this positive and colourful display will be a beautiful reflection on all those who through their gifts continue to leave a lasting impact for so many individuals and families.
