Planting a greener future at Hearts Together We’re thrilled to share that we recently planted over 100 hedges to complete the landscaping around our new entrance. This wonderful project was made possible thanks to the generosity of SocieTree, who donated the hedges, and the incredible efforts of our volunteers and community. The day kicked off with a fascinating introduction to SocieTree’s mission by Steve Warren-Brown, highlighting their goal of creating more sustainable, greener futures through initiatives like micro-forests and hedgerows. Inspired by this vision, the team rolled up their sleeves to prepare the ground, dig, plant, and secure the hedges with protective fencing. It’s been amazing to see charities, businesses, and community members come together to make this happen, a testament to the power of teamwork and collaboration. On the day, we were joined by Steve and Karen from SocieTree, a team of six from Bailey Partnership, Hearts Together Volunteers Karen and Steve, as well as young volunteers Tiana and Annalea from Discovery College (YMCA Plymouth). With their support, we planted a much needed 20-meter hedgerow along the new entrance by Blunts Lane —an initiative that not only enhances our space but also supports local wildlife. The hard work was made all the more enjoyable with plenty of tea and a steady supply of delicious pasties, biscuits, and crisps—a well-earned reward for everyone’s efforts. Thank you all for being part of this special project and helping us create a greener, more welcoming space for all. Manage Cookie Preferences
