Plymouth Garden Centre 60th anniversary donation A HUGE thank you to Plymouth Garden Centre Ltd for choosing Hearts Together as one of their 60 charities to generously donate £60 worth of plants and compost to celebrate their 60th anniversary! Plymouth Garden Centre is a family-run garden centre located just a stone's throw from Hearts Together Charity in Crownhill, originally founded in 1964 by Tom Newton. Over the years, Plymouth Garden Centre has consistently reached out to their community, providing donations to local community groups and charities and supporting youth groups and nurseries to get young people into gardening. This is their 60th year in business, and they selected a number of charities and community groups to provide donations to, as well as additionally providing help for other community gardens such as the ICU Secret Garden at Derriford Hospital. Third-generation owner Fiona said: "It's my family business, and this is our 60th year. It was started by my grandfather and some other people. On our 50th anniversary, we did it, we also did it for our 55th, and we are doing it again for our 60th. Essentially," she added, "we are supported by our community, and we would not have made 60 years without all our customers. So we always want to give something back, help projects, and also help some of the younger generations get into gardening and make it fun." - Quote from Plymouth Live Team member Josie and our volunteer gardener Karen were delighted to attend and collect this amazing gift. Karen has already set to work planting and potting across the hotel, even bringing out our hanging baskets to get them summer-ready! Our garden area is a real sanctuary for guests, a place to decompress, relax, and recharge after often long, busy days spent at the hospital or within a clinical setting. Thank you to Plymouth Garden Centre for helping us make this space even more beautiful. Manage Cookie Preferences
