Community Champion Overview! We’re looking to build a network of volunteers across the South West — and beyond — who can help share the story of Hearts Together within their own communities. As a Community Champion, you’ll play a vital role in raising awareness of our work, helping others understand the difference our hospital hotel makes, and encouraging local support for our charity’s mission. About the Role This is one of our most flexible and adaptable volunteer roles — it’s truly what you make of it. Whether you have just a few hours a month or want to take on something more regular, we’ll work with you to shape the role around your availability, interests and strengths. Share Hearts Together updates with local community groups, workplaces or faith organisations Give short talks or presentations about the charity Distribute leaflets or posters in your local area Host small fundraising events or coffee mornings Help connect us with local businesses, clubs or community networks Represent Hearts Together at local fairs or awareness days Share our social media posts within your online communities Or you might have an entirely different idea — and we’d love to hear it. Each Community Champion is encouraged to create their own niche way of supporting Hearts Together, using their transferable skills, background and interests What We Offer You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive and caring team who will be on hand to guide you every step of the way. We’ll provide you with: A full induction and introduction to Hearts Together’s work Ongoing support and regular contact from our team Access to stories, materials and resources to help you share our message Opportunities to connect with other Community Champions Recognition and thanks for the difference you make Skills and Qualities There’s no one type of person who makes a great Community Champion — what matters most is your enthusiasm for helping others and your willingness to share our story. However, you might find this role especially rewarding if you: Enjoy meeting new people and building connections Feel confident talking about causes you care about Have local knowledge and community contacts Are creative and self-motivated Want to volunteer flexibly around your own schedule Commitment This role is completely flexible. Whether you can give an hour here and there, or take a more active role in your community, we’ll make it work around you.
